This guide explains how to add an external converter file to Zigbee2MQTT in Home Assistant. After completing the configuration, the device can be recognized and used normally in Zigbee2MQTT.

1. Install the File Editor Add-on

First, install the File editor add-on in Home Assistant. This add-on allows you to access and edit Home Assistant configuration files.

2. Create the external_converters Folder

Open File editor and navigate to the following path:

homeassistant/zigbee2mqtt

Create a new folder named:

external_converters

3. Upload the External Converter File

Upload the provided converter configuration file into the following folder:

homeassistant/zigbee2mqtt/external_converters

4. Restart Zigbee2MQTT

After uploading the configuration file, restart Zigbee2MQTT. Then open the device list and check the device information. The device should now be detected and work normally.

Troubleshooting Tips

    • Restart Zigbee2MQTT after adding or modifying converter files.
    • If the device is still not recognized, check the Zigbee2MQTT logs for configuration errors.
